Grinder for Tensile Samples TGLM

The TGLM is a grinding machine designed for the preparation and finishing of tensile test specimens. Its primary function is to remove hardened areas and burrs that may be produced during previous cutting, shearing, or pressing operations, helping obtain specimens with the required geometry and surface finish.
Proper specimen preparation is an important stage in material testing. After a specimen has been cut or formed, additional grinding may be required to achieve its final dimensions and remove irregularities. The TGLM is designed specifically for this process.
Grinding for Tensile Test Specimens
The TGLM Edge Grinder for Tensile Samples is designed according to requirements associated with ASTM, ISO, and GB/T 228.1-2010, which covers tensile testing of metals at room temperature.
The machine can remove hardened areas produced during pressing and can also grind away burrs from specimens produced by other preparation machines.
This allows the TGLM to be used after processes such as punching or pressing, providing an additional preparation stage before testing.
Design Adapted to Specimen Geometry
An important feature of the TGLM is that its design takes the length and shape of the specimens into consideration.
The support roller radius corresponds to the required specimen radius, with the equipment designed for specimens with a radius of less than 20 mm. This configuration is intended to maintain the accuracy of the finished specimen.
The machine is particularly suitable for use together with a sample press, allowing specimens to be ground after the pressing process.
Controlled Grinding Process
The TGLM features a fine feed adjustment system with a feed accuracy of 0.05 mm. This allows the grinding process to be controlled according to the dimensions required for the specimen.
The specified form tolerance of the finished specimen is within 0.06 mm, while the grinding surface can achieve a roughness of Ra ≤ 0.4.
Different Specimen Configurations
The TGLM series includes different models for specimens with different gauge lengths:
- TGLM-50: 50 mm gauge length
- TGLM-80: 80 mm gauge length
- TGLM-100: 100 mm gauge length
- TGLM-Z: proportional specimens
The equipment can also be used with dumbbell and bar-shaped specimens, as well as tensile and bending samples.
