Digital Milling Machine for Specimen Preparation TensileCut DMM 500
The TensileCut DMM 500 is a digital milling machine designed for the preparation of specimens used in material testing. Its primary function is to perform the final machining of samples until the required dimensions and geometry are achieved.
In specimen preparation, the initial cutting of the material is only one part of the process. Once the blank has been obtained, machining may be required to achieve the final specimen dimensions. The DMM 500 is designed specifically for this stage of preparation.
Milling for Material Test Specimens
The TensileCut DMM 500 prepares specimens according to international standards including ASTM A370, ISO 377, and GB2975-2018.
The process begins with a blank that has been previously cut to size. A punch press or laser cutting machine can be used for this initial preparation. The DMM 500 then performs the final machining required to obtain the specimen dimensions.
Programmable Specimen Preparation
The machine features programmable software for specimen preparation. This allows the machining process to be established according to the required specimen dimensions.
Programmability is particularly useful when a laboratory needs to prepare multiple specimens using a consistent process, helping maintain repeatability during sample preparation.
Working Capacity
The DMM 500 provides an X-axis travel of 520 mm, a Y-axis travel of 320 mm, and a Z-axis travel of 450 mm.
Its working table measures 700 × 300 mm, providing an area for mounting and machining the samples.
The spindle can reach a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm, while the cutting speed can be adjusted from 2 to 3,000 mm/min.
An Important Stage in Specimen Preparation
Material test specimens must reach the testing stage with the appropriate dimensions and geometry. For this reason, final machining is an important part of the preparation process.
The TensileCut DMM 500 is focused on this stage, providing a digital and programmable milling system for obtaining the final specimen dimensions.
The machine can also complement other specimen preparation equipment, such as hydraulic punch presses and laser cutting systems, creating a more complete preparation process for material testing.
