Founded by Juan R. Sevilla, President of the company, he has combined over 34 years of experience in the quality control field, first as a manufacturers representative while working in Mexico with Tecnicos Argostal, then with factory and international sales activities in working as Sales Manager for Latin America with Buehler Ltd., and Gould Inc., and as Director of sales for United Testing Systems.

MARKETS SERVED AND PRODUCT LINES With decided dedication to the quality control field, CIENTEC serves 2 major industrial sectors; the metallurgical (automobile, auto parts, steel mill, foundries, etc.); and the plastics sector. Other sectors such as packaging, electrical, rubber, chemical and electronics and food industry, are also served when requirements and applications are encountered.
In marketing quality control test equipment, CIENTEC first concentrated on three traditional metal testing areas which are; destructive tests, nondestructive tests and metrology. With the advent of plastics, and their swift substitution of numerous metal parts and components, CIENTEC made a decision to market test equipment for this new and dynamic sector.
SERVICE AND CALIBRATION The high complexity and technical sophistication of the products offered by CIENTEC can only be sold with the availability of local service and support. Warranty and post warranty service is offered within the country of Mexico from our service centers in Guadalajara and Mexico City
With the growing trend of ISO 9000 certification comes a demand for calibration services. To support its account base CIENTEC has a laboratory in compliance with ISO Guide 17025 and is certified with the Mexican Standards Institute, "Sistema acional de Calibración", in the area of force. This certification is in compliance of NMX-EC-17025. CIENTEC is also in the process of obtaining certification in the areas of hardness, metrology, surface finish and mass.
PERSONNEL CIENTEC has 9 employees working at the Guadalajara main office and 1 employee at the Monterrey sales office. Four sales engineers conduct sales activities in Guadalajara and one sales and service engineer in Monterrey. For service and calibration, Guadalajara has two engineers dedicated exclusively for that purpose. All sales and service personnel are BSEE or BSME, and can troubleshoot service and calibrate, when required, as well as sell.
